Week 8 of my writing about different staff, and I’m still motivated to do so. This one was all about consuming chill and somewhat “low-effort” content, so here we are.

Blacksad, Juan Díaz Canales & Juanjo Guarnido.

The last two volumes of “Blacksad” by Juan Díaz Canales & Juanjo Guarnido, and I have to say, I’m a fan. The whole series is a great noir graphic BD novel, a satire, and allegory, with rare but great humour and wit. The stories get more complex and emotional as we follow Blacksad, a private detective, in every volume.

Kiki’s delivery service, 1989

Studio Ghibli. Kiki's Delivery Service

I love “Kiki’s delivery service” wholeheartedly, hence a rewatch. A movie about a little witch and her familiar? Definitely, I’m going to like it. It has to be studio Ghibli’s magic, I would say, but it’s an ultimate instantly-feel-better wholesome movie, and is easily my favourite by Hayao Miyazaki.

Il ballo della vita, Måneskin

Måneskin. Il ballo della vita

My search for the albums I want to include into my (one day, hopefully) essay about modern-day poetry continues, and I am now going through my favourite Måneskin’s album, “Il ballo della vita”. I find this one and “Teatro d’ira” to be more emotional than their newest one, “Rush!”. Moreover, I think, it has a great balance between “I sufferingly suffer” and “Freak everyone & everything”. It is difficult to highlight just one track, but if I had to, I’d highlight two – “Torna a casa” and “Lasciami stare”.

Furthermore, this week was about reading my linguistics textbook (an interesting read, I have to admit) and reading a great classic, which I’m yet to finish, so I’ll leave it for the next time.
